Webinar Duration: 2 Hours | CPD Points : 2
Practice as a health care professional is based upon a relationship of mutual trust between patients and health care practitioners. The term “profession” means “a dedication, promise or commitment publicly made”. Practitioners have a responsibility to uphold and maintain the trust given to them by their patients. This responsibility extends to the information patients share with practitioners that will eventually form part of their records.
The HPCSA has developed guidelines for practitioners in storing of patient records to help practitioner maintain the trust but also store critical patient information. These guidelines form an integral part of the standards of professional conduct against which a complaint of professional misconduct will be evaluated.
The aim of this webinar is to create practitioner awareness of the guidelines and help them understand and appreciate them better.
